The Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) model teaches the skills required to achieve unparalleled success in most human interactions. NLP is essentially the study of the structure of “excellence” i.e. how people become successful at things. This success encompasses the setting and the achievement of goals.
NLP emerged in the early 1970’s as a powerful and effective tool with applications to counselling, education, sports and business communication. Drs Richard Bandler and John Grinder formulated the NLP model after many years of observing and listening to people who seemed to have a natural talent for effective communication. They concluded that these peoples’ strengths lay not in what they said (content) but how they said it (process). Layla studied with McClendon who was trained in NLP by Drs Bandler and Grinder.
The foundations of NLP assume that excellence in performance can be modelled and transferred from one person to another. The elements of an excellent performance can be broken down into its constituent parts, for example, excellent communication is a function of what is said (the words), how it is said (the tone, tempo, volume) and well as body language.
The NLP model functions at the level of what is happening with an individual’s perception of the world i.e. how an individual experiences an interaction and makes sense of that interaction. Because NLP examines the process of experience rather than the content, it is referred to as the “Study of Subjective Experience.
Nlp•australia Master Practitioner of NLP will provide you with skills to build sparkle into your life. Being a good communicator is a skill that pays dividends in many circumstances. Good communication lubricates social situations, creates win-win outcomes, improves empathy and maximizes the impact of presentations and training.
Personal and professional achievements can be achieved more directly and quickly through the setting of appropriate, relevant and attainable goals. The most valuable goals are those that are creatively conceived, executed with motivation and enthusiasm and result in high levels of satisfaction.
Being flexible opens many doors and allows one to explore unexpected avenues in careers, lifestyles or business opportunities.

Following is an introduction to some of the NLP techniques being taught at nlp•australia‘s NLP Advanced Skills Program. Briefly noted are some of the benefits gained from using these techniques within Business, Education and Counselling.
Multi-Level Communication
Language is a powerful medium for communication when used to its full potential. Multi Level Communication incorporates maximising delivery by tonal marking and inflection to convey the message to both the conscious and unconscious levels of the listener. Additionally, the use of presuppositions in the content of language is useful to maximise what you want easily understood.
Benefits: These skills are critical for creating productive atmospheres for selling, staff management, negotiations, learning and in any context where you wish to influence with integrity to gain mutually beneficial outcomes.
Applications: Education, Negotiations, Sales, Counselling, Management and Recruitment.
Creativity Model
An introduction to the process of creativity using meta programs, values and beliefs for product development and stimulating new ideas. This module includes practical tasking in teams to generate new products.
Benefits: Enhanced creativity in developing products and services.
Applications: Education, Product Development, Strategic Thinking, Problem Solving, Team Development and Management.
Presentation Skills
Developing flexibility in presentation of self and material to match different styles of comprehension in an audience. Additionally, learning how to maximally use the platform for impactful delivery by controlling the flow of the presentation.
Benefits: Powerful and congruent presentations less audience confusion and more believability
Applications: Education, Management and Staff Training and Development
Generative Counselling Techniques
This is developing the ability to use NLP Practitioner techniques singularly and in combination. Additionally, training in generative counselling techniques such as “Building and Installing New Generalizations” assist clients in creating behavioral changes that impact and affect many behaviors resourcefully and across a variety of contexts. This section of the training includes tasking and creating specific client interventions of both a remedial and generative nature.
Benefits: Powerful changes for your clients, the ability to create your own techniques.
Modelling
This is the ability to identify the behavioral skills and attitudes of an individual. There are two primary purposes for modelling:
Modelling is used in business settings to capture the expertise necessary for high performance behavior in areas such as sales, management and recruitment. It is used in a variety of educational settings including sports enhancement, accelerated learning and any training area relating to development of a particular or skill or expertise. Modelling is also used in counselling as a diagnostic tool to accurately identify limiting behaviour.
The modelling module of the NLP Advanced Skills program incorporates training in the following areas:
a. Meta Programs
These are the filtering processes that operate at a largely unconscious level and include six key areas: an individual’s motivation, response to feedback, people relationships, learning ability, time management and decision making.
b. Values
These are the determinants of behavior that motivate an individual to expend energy and resources to achieve or avoid a particular outcome. Values are the content of meta programs.
c. Advanced Strategies
The specific sequence of mental processes an individual goes through to perform a behavior or skill.
d. Beliefs
These are the imprint experiences represented in the form of pictures, sounds and feelings. These memories serve as triggers that drive the motivation and commitment of an individual.
e. Advanced Sub-modalities
These are the structure of the beliefs i.e. how the belief is represented in terms of the visual, auditory and kinesthetic sub-components. Once identified, the critical sub-modality of the belief is used to duplicate and transfer representation to other individuals.
f. Physiology
The identification and elicitation of the posture, gestures and other non-verbal cues that represent the individual performing the skill or expertise.
The modelling module incorporates accreditation in the use of LifeSetÔ- a computerised personality assessment tool.
Applications: Education, Negotiations, Sales, Counselling, Management and Recruitment.

Powerful and effective communicators in many fields use these language patterns as a means to skilfully manage teams and staff towards the goals and aims of the organisation; within staff training and development to assist in maximising comprehension; in any cultural or personal change program to assist in minimising resistance; as an adjunct to counselling tools; in a sales setting to maximise buyers response; and, as a means to convey communications effectively to the general public.
Applications: Education, Negotiations, Sales, Counselling, Management and Recruitment
